Hydrant
An abstract painting inspired by the shapes and shadows of a fire hydrant on the pavement in Los Angeles. At the bottom of the painting it’s possible to work out the kerb and road. I rarely take my paintings this far into the abstract. Read more »
Coffee and Cake
Coffee jump starts my day but I must admit I pass on the cake. This painting is part of a series whereby I reduce all of the detail down to the basics. I enjoy the purity of the resulting shapes. It’s the borderline between realism and abstraction. A creative place I like to explore. Read more »
Juicy Maui Papaya
Couldn’t resist painting this ripe papaya taken from a tree in our garden. Cut open and dripping with juice, it’s the same color as the clouds at sunset here on Maui. Read more »
